Alex Kava
Bio
Alex Kava grew up just outside of Silver Creek, Nebraska. She had an interest in writing early on, but it was not encouraged so she kept it relatively private. She attended the College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska on an art scholarship, and earned a BA in Art and English.
After graduation, Alex worked in advertising and marketing before starting her own graphic design firm (Square One). In 1992, she got a job as directory of public relations at her alma mater. Four years later, she quit that job in order to spend more time writing. Getting published took some real effort and sacrifice (she refinanced her home, maxed out her credit cards, and even had a newspaper delivery route!), but it certainly paid off in the long run.
Alex is a member of the Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime. She lives in Omaha, Nebraska with her two dogs (Miss Molly and Scout).
