Maureen JenningsBio
Maureen Jennings was born on Eastfield Road in Birmingham, England and moved to Canada (with her mother) at the age of 17. She earned a BA in philosophy and psychology from the University of Windsor. A few years later, she returned to her studies, and graduated from the Universit of Toronto with an MA in English Literature. She taught English at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute (Toronto) for 8 years, but left to become a psychotherapist in private practice. She later focused on her writing. Her historical mystery series, featuring detective William Murdoch, is set in Victorian Toronto. The series has been turned into several tv movies. Maureen has won numerous awards for her writing, including the Heritage Toronto Certificate of Commendation (in 1998). In 2003-2004, she was president of Crime Writers of Canada. Maureen is passionate about dogs, and lives (along with her husband) with a border collie named Jeremy-Brett and a mixed breed named Varley. Bibliography
