Carolyn Hart

Bio

Carolyn Hart

Carolyn Hart (aka Carolyn G. Hart) was born in Oklahoma City. She grew up planning to be a reporter, and attended the University of Oklahoma, majoring in journalism. She met her husband Phil while on a student trip in Europe, and after their marriage and her graduation, she worked on a local newspaper. The couple later moved to Washington D.C., and had a son, before moving on to For Leavenworth, Kansas, where their daughter was born. With two kids to raise, Carolyn decided to try writing fiction rather than return to the long hours at a newspaper. She wrote fiction for juveniles and young adults, and later moved to adult mystery fiction.

She was one of just a few authors honoured at the National Book Festival in Washington D.C. in 2003. She has written over 35 novels, and has won several awards (including 3 Agatha Awards for Best Novel). She was a founding member of the Sisters in Crime organization.

Carolyn and her husband currently live together (with their cats) in Oklahoma City.
