Barbara Fradkin

Bio

Barbara Fradkin

Barbara Fradkin was born in Montreal and educated at McGill University, the University of Toronto, and the University of Ottawa, where she obtained her PhD in psychology. Her work as a child psychologist provides plenty of insight and inspiration for her fiction.

An active member of Canada's writing community, she is currently on the executive of the Ottawa Chapter of Sisters in Crime, an organization of female crime writers, and of Capital Crime Writers, an Ottawa mystery writers' group. Barbara is also the current president of Crime Writers of Canada.

She has three children, two cats and a dog, and in whatever spare time she can find, she loves outdoor activities like skiing and kayaking, as well as reading, of course.
