Janet Evanovich
Bio
Janet Evanovich ws born on April 22, 1943 in South River, New Jersey. She attended South River High School, then earned a B.A. from Douglass College in 1965.
She worked as a secretary for a short while, and then started writing romance novels (under the name Steffie Hall). After a dozen novels, she decided to switch over to the mystery genre. In 1995, Janet and her family moved to New Hampshire where she concentrated on writing full-time. Writing became a family business, with her son helping out with the financial side of things. A year later, her daughter Alex joined the team and created the website. Her husband, Pete (who has his doctorate in mathematics) is the fourth member of Evanovich, Inc., and he manages all the business aspects. It really is a family affair!
Janet has won numerous awards for her work, including the Crime Writers Association's John Creasey Memorial, Last Laugh, and Silver Dagger Awards, Left Coast Crime's Lefty Award, and the Independent Mystery Booksellers Dilys Award.
