Jan Burke

Jan Burke, author of the wildly popular mystery series featuring Southern California newspaper reporter Irene Kelly, was born in Texas but spent most of her life in California. She studied at California State University, Long Beach, and earned a history degree.

She's a strong believer in the importance of forensic science, which prompted her to found the Crime Lab Project.

Jan currently lives with her husband Tim, and their two dogs (Cappy and Britches).
