Alafair Burke
Bio
Alafair Burke was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, moved to Wichita, Kansas, then on to Portland, Oregon. She graduated (top of her class!) from Stanford Law School, and worked as deputy district attorney. She currently lives in upstate New York and teachers criminal law at Hofstra Law School.
As the daughter of crime writer James Lee Burke, Alafair's writing talent may, at least in part, be in the genes. She writes about what she knows, including Samantha Kincaid, a Deputy District Attorney in Portland.
