Robin Burcell

Bio

Robin Burcell

Robin Burcell has been a police officer since 1983. When she joined the Lodi Police Department, she was only 23 and the first woman officer in the department. Since then, she has worked a number of different assignments (patrol, crimes against persons, child abuse, property crimes, welfare fraud, hostage negotiation), and has been trained (by the FBI) as a forensic artist. Not surprisingly, her books feature a police officer as the main character.

Her first book was a romance novel about a police officer. It was a finalist in both the Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart for Historical and the prestigious Rita for Best First Book. She then moved on to her Kate Gillespie series, featuring a homicide inspector in San Francisco, California. Her new/next series will feature a female deputy, the first in her police department.

She generously donates a portion of her royalties to COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors), in memory of men and women who have given their lives in the line of duty.

She lives in Northern California with her husband and their three daughters.
