Rick Blechta
Bio
Rick Blechta was born in New Rochelle, New York and grew up just north of New York City (Westchester County). He moved to Canada in 1971 to study music at McGill University in Montreal. After graduation, Rick toured the country with his band, Devotion. He worked several jobs (studio work, cab driving, and kitchen duty in private club) while trying to get a recording contract with his new band, Eyes. In 1977, he began teaching music.
He's written three novels, and continues to fill his life with music and art. He works as a freelance musician and a graphic designer. His love of music is evident in his books.
Rick is married to flutist and teacher, Vicki Blechta. Together, they have two sons.
